Im looking at a 1940 BSA "Dispersal" No.1 Mk.3*

Its stamped with just the "B" instead of the whole BSA (common on dispersal rifles) the date is half scrubbed and looks like 194 and the "0" is in rough shape.

the rest of the rifle looks good and has what looks like an original pull through and cleaning rag in the butt.

all numbers match

rifling looks good and there is a weaver type scope mount on it. the stock is cut down but the butt still has the sharp/pointed hand grip on it. they are asking $275 and im not sure i can get them down much...is it worth it? and if not what is it worth? are the dispersal models collectable? or just junk due to the less then ideal finish on the rifles?

Agreed with desporterizer. It's a regular sportered SMLE, dispersal or not; If it had a good scope on it, it may be worth closer to the asking price!

Now, a non-drilled-and-tapped, original military configured dispersal... that's another story.
