Hi guys,

I am relatively unfamiliar with Mil surplus rifles but ended up trading for one the other day. I have done some looking on the net and on this site to establish a value, but it seems to vary considerably depending on condition, number of matching serial number parts etc. Anyway, I am just looking to assess the value of the package to trade or sell since its not my forte and I would rather see it go to someone who appreciates it for what it is. Any assistance would be appreciated.

This is the rifle and accessories (bayonet, sheath and shell belt)

I understand that it was manufactured in 1941 by Husqavarna Co-op as they were at the time. The rifle is chambered in 6.5x55. The serial number is matching on the receiver, bolt parts, butt plate etc, but the barrel band has a different number on it. The serial number appears to be very low for the series (ie. within the first 50 of the 600000 lot). Overall the rifle seems to be in good condition.

Thanks for your time.

Regards

With all the accessories I could see maybe 400$ max (likely more around 300-350) just due to the fact it isn't all matching (also the markings on the stock disk mean nothing now that the rifle has been sold as surplus, all that it meant was the bore WAS in that condition when it was sold off). Hope this helps.

As above, $350-450 max, and the bore rating is not that good according to the disk, if it was still in the system the next time it was going in for inspection the armourers most probably were going to change the barrel out.

The Husqavarna model 38 is one of the 1st choice rifles in the Swede rifles today. Rifle is worth approx 350. to 450. The Bayonet & sheath 40.-50. Shell belt 25.-30.
Price depends on condition and these items appear to be in VG condition. There are no full military rifles (96,38 or94s) from Sweden being imported into Canada for a long time now.

X 2.

There have been less and less of the Swedes selling in Canada over the last couple of years. Even on the EE there are very few of them coming up for sale anymore.

Unless you need the money, I suggest you hold onto this rifle. They are well known for their accuracy, as well as their quality. If you sell it, you'll find it hard to get another.

Good point, and these are very much under appreciated and valued rifles with the ability perform way above the average milsurp rifle with excellent long range accuracy.

Wow! Thanks for all of the info and replies guys. Much appreciated.

I really don't know very much about the history of this rifle other than the fellow I acquired it from use to collect them. He had a dozen or so different Mauser Mil surp rifles but had pared his collection down to this one and another Mauser over the years. It seems well greased so I wonder if he had even fired it while it was in his possession.

Thanks again for all the comments though.

Regards.
