I just picked up an old 303 that has been sporterized, the barrel is still intact with the bayo lug.

I'd love to convert it back to original, Any site sponsors offer replacement wood stock set and any associated hardware to complete it?

Prestigious Hardwoods has full wood sets and metal bits. Marstar has some wood sets and metal bits. Problem is some stuff is out of stock so my have to order from different places. Also a few other places if you look up Lee Enfield parts on the web. Going to cost you a bit of money buying parts. I buy a lot of my parts locally when ever I can find. Most come from private sellers which is the cheaper way to go but takes longer.

I was looking at Prestigious and chatted with the folk there this evening, they offer both smooth and grooved which should a guy pick for that "authentic" look and feel.

There are entire books written on various configurations of No. 4 rifles - so perhaps "British Enfield Rifles, Volume 2, 3rd edition Lee Enfield No. 4 and No. 5 Rifles" by Charles Stratton. Will tell you the various patterns of receivers used (9 of them), which sights were used (9 variations listed for 6 different factories in different years), at least four types of wood, etc. Would be up to you to decide what "authentic" would look like?

From another CGN post, someone noted that the grooves on Prestigous No. 4 hand guards, do not match to any that were used in WWII.

Good luck, I'm working on a SMLE Mark I Model III*. I finally ordered the last pieces that I need out of a place in England. Now I can take apart my sporter and see if I need any other parts, and then on the fitting stocks.
