1944 Anti Tank TNT Contact Mine Crate

.
Not really worth that much or much collector's value. The painted over markings indicates these were used and sold as surplus.

Many of these boxes were "standard" sizes and could be used for many purposes, depending upon how the inside was configured.

At a scrap metal dealers yard a few years ago, there was probably close to 100 large wooden pallets of these boxes. The cost was $10 each or $7.50 if you took four.

In the Prairie Provinces, there are lots of pieces of farm equipment with similar boxes bolted to them for tools, parts, bolts, etc.

Of course, cleaned up of the old paint, with the "Anti-Tank Mine" markings showing on it, when you take it to the range, leave it out in plain sight and advise anyone else who wants to walk downrange to change their target that they "should be careful where they step." . :)

Thanks guys.

I think Ill make this into a transport box then. It is metal, and I can fix a lock to it. A nice metal container for transporting my restricteds and it wont cost me $200.

Speaking of the WOODEN WW2 boxes, I have several of those...rocket launchers, marine markers, granade boxes..... but they were wood so no use for them.

Box has been converted into a gun transportation box for restricted firearms from my place to the gun club.

all metal

lockable

Pretty common metal box style. Have one that says 81 mm mortar rounds. Welded a hasp on, just like the second box and use it as ammo storage.:D
