If you can't find one any where else, it's worth whatever you're willing to pay for it. I have two myself and one is from Westrifle, one is not. Both are beautiful, rare SKS's. There is a video up on YouTube (my name there is the same as here) of me unboxing my '49 the day it arrived....

I bought a 49 refurb from Westrifle a couple of years ago for $225. Force matched #s but very pretty. I was going to sell it off but even renumbered it's still a 49. I think 225 was a decent price.
 
I soooo wanna grab that 49, and have been fighting with myself all day about it, just picked up a 53 as an everyday shooter and wanna add to the arsenal. Just finding it hard to part with 500 smackers!!LOL... Especially when I can grab a 54 and a 56 or 52 for about the equivalent price. and have 2 more SKS's. But there is also only so many around, and the price is just going up!!And it is kinda the crown jewel of SKS's... Ok, almost got myself talked into it. At this rate my CC will have another 500 dollar hit on it an no time. :)
 
The first 49 i had was a late one with blade bayonet but i sold it when i got my first 49 with spike bayo. Then, when i got my 3rd 49(from Westrifle this winter) i sold my other 49 spike since the stock wasn't the proper type. I still have remorse to have sold the one with blade bayonet, i wanted a spike one so bad......live and learn. Thinking about getting another 49 from westrifle, they are so sweet with the slim stock;) The bad, we must pay credit card too:(

Guys the point is that I can not find those nice 1949 in wood anymore. All the rest is refurbed Laminate and even those are not cheap. So I think it is going to be the last 1949 that I will bring in.

I just bought the sks 49 # 178, i will have 2 nice 49 now.... need to put something for sale on the EE,but what??

I just bought one of the other 49's. Refurb, does not look like any refurb markings, spike bayonet. said numbers matching......... Had to do it!!!!! Now to find a 50,51,52,54,55,56. LOL. Just got into it and it consuming me!!!!!
Thanks for pushing me Joce! That's 2 SKS's bought today!!!
