1950 CNo4 MkI* on EE

On the milsurp EE there is a 1950 CNo4 MkI* being offered for sale at a decent price. What is unusual about this rifle is that the rear sight is the "L" type expediant WWII type. This is the first 1950 I've seen with this rear sight.
Is this unusual or what? I'm thinking it's a later bubba but I could definitely be wrong. If it isn't correct, it's a cheap fix.
