G'day everyone. Not sure if this is the right spot to post this topic or not but I just recently bought a 1950 mannlicher shoenauer 270. Just hoping I'll be able to find someone that knows something about them. Nobody in my area seems too familiar with them. Mine is has the straight butterknife bolt handle, no side safety, griffen and Howe side scope mount. Also a rough value would be appreciated just so I know if I should start kicking myself or pat myself on the back lol. Serial number is 9xx and is the same on the barrel, receiver, and bolt. no rust on the barrel, receiver, or bolt. Stock has normal handling and wear for a 66 year old rifle, no cracks or dents. Also very curious if there's something you all reccomend for cleaning the stock without removing value. Thanks in advance

Been having a difficult time tracking one down that's exactly like mine to compare it to. Forgot to mention that it also has the double triggers

full stock or half stock? White spacers or no white spaces in the butt cap or butt plate? Butt pad or original plate?
Price can be variable. I for one get a little turned off my the side scope mount -- also it may have other holes drilled in the side of the receiver from past attempts.
A half stock without the while spaces and fairly intact is 750-$1100 or so. Full stock ...about $1500 +/-

Thanks for the info. Half stock with original butt plate with no white spacers. I had removed the scope mount when I first got it to see what else was written behind it. No other holes in the receiver

I have a 1950... came with a steel grooved butt plate with a trapdoor for cleaning utensils. Does yours have complete iron sights as well as the scope mounts?

Mine doesn't have the trap door in the butt stock. And yep it still has the iron sights with the 100/200 yard sight, and the flip up 300 yard sight

Well if the G&H mount has rings and most of the bluing remains it is worth $1000 on the low end and up imo. Course you need a buyer... but those that know them are impressed by their slick actions!

Yes it has rings and a bushnell scope. The blueing seems very good on everything except the scope mount and a very little wear on the bolt handle. Originally I was going in to buy a new model 70 until I tried the action of the ms

The stock seems to have 66 years worth of handling and looks somewhat dirty. Any recommendations on cleaning products for the stock that won't harm any original finish?
