Hi there. I have a 1950 Tula that goes click but no bang.
I'm getting very light strikes.

It has the firing pin with spring and it almost seems that the rear of the pin does not protrude far enough out of the bolt for the hammer to strike it fully.

It is 3.528" or 89.56 mm in length.

If anyone could help it would be apprecitated. Thanks.

My SKS also has a firing pin spring but the rear of my firing pin doesn't look like yours. I'll take mine out and measure it.

Edit: My pin measures exactly 94.25 mm

Look like the rear of your pin was snaped off. The pin should mesure 3.692 inch approx. Look the pics below. You will need a replacement part.

Hey Stonehorse and SVT1940 I sure appreciate your help.
Thanks for the pictures. That really shows what is missing on mine and explains why no bang.
Now I don't have to guess what might be wrong.

Any idea what would cause that? Do you think I could have damaged it by reassembling it incorrectly?
It seems unlikely that I could have broken it considering how simple and tough these things are.

thanks again guys

Thanks Points for the lead as well.

Its not the first original spring loaded firing pin i see broken. Its likely a metal fatigue. I never heard yet of the later model free floating pin that broke.
