I just picked up a 1951 Wingmaster. I didn't know it was a 1951 when I bought it, but that's what Remington told me after I brought it home. I'm pretty happy about it as none of my grandparents had an old shotgun for me to inherit.
It looked as though it'd been in someones basement for about twenty years, but, after a couple hours of scrubbing, it cleaned up pretty nicely. I am wondering how to effectively remove some of the rust(?) from inside the receiver though. There is no pitting, and it may not be rust, but I'd like to be careful. The bore is shiny and clean.
Also, there is some general staining on the metal. Any idea how I remove that?
