I apologize to the members of this forum, as I haven't had a chance to look into the "photo bucket" concept for posting pics here.

Please visit my posting over at the Gunboards forum under the above title. This is my second unissued SKS photo essay.

If you know how to post the pics here, please be my guest. Thanks in advance.

Nice rifle... Now... This is how I feel about everyone else getting their sks rifles BEFORE me...:bangHead:

Especially since I have TWO on order, one from Frontier and one from SIR... "Come on train!!!"

Cheers
Jay

When I see pics like that I regret not ordering one myself. I've got an old Norc, but Russians like that are beautiful.
Unfortunately I do have to eat sometimes.
Really nice rifle there rchmontreal.

Thanks RobAK. Don't forget that there will be a lot more available soon. The prices should drop toward the lower $200 mark, especially for the refurbished ones.

I jumped on these when the opportunity presented itself. I'll be looking for more minty ones with the next releases, to fill the collection. But the earlier years of issue, 1949-1952, will be next to impossible to find in the same condition. I'll look for the best refurbished examples for those.

I've owned several Chinese Type 56's over the years. My favourite is still a minty pinned barrel late production PLA model. Functions flawlessly and gives me consistent 3" groups all day long, if I apply my shooting techniques.

Don't underestimate the quality of a Chinese Type 56.

Would you happen to know what kind of supply we can expect, or number of shipments? I really would like to find a blued one.

Sorry Steiner, I have no inside contacts. Just a buyer at the right place and right time.

Keep checking your favourite store's website for new postings, and keep phoning frequently. Make it known what you are looking for as far as year of production, quality, quantity, refurb or original, shooter or collector, etc. Introduce yourself, leave a contact phone number, and get to know the sales staff. Ask questions.

I keep returning to where I find friendly, reliable and knowledgeable sales staff. That's my method.

yes, there will be plenty of refurbs so dont rush but if you ever get a chance of buying a unissued like this one for $279 then dont hessitate and grab it or i will .:D
