1955-56 Tula SKS-45: No date, no refurb...Now with Photos!

Well, I think I finally figured out how to post photographs here. So far it seems a little more complicated then the Gunboards method.

This carbine is a 1955-56 Tula. It is all stamped matching, unrefurbished and appears to be unissued.

Maybe instead of posting your new acquisitions on the extremely long SIR-Frontier thread, you can start your own threads. That way members can access images of your new carbines in a more practical format.

I wonder why there's the difference in bluing color on the cover where the stamp would be on the early SKS - my 55/56 has the same discoloration.

Steel hardness. Effects the colour. Seen on almost all SKS receiver covers

True enough - I think that area would be left a bit softer to allow a crisp roll-stamp marking.
