Guess?
As the title says, I have a 1955 H&R Garand that shoots very well (when I last shot it), but I would like to refinish the metal. This isn't a "collectors grade" rifle, but a rifle I have always wanted and bought about 5 years ago when I could afford it.

I have been told that the finish on this rifle, when made new by H&R in 1955, would have had a Manganese, or dark charcoal finish on it, rather than the zinc WWII finish. I would like to stay true to the year it was made,so where in Eastern Ontario (or Ottawa) could I get it re-parked?

Have you asked Jason at Gunco? He's the only reputable gunsmith in Ottawa that I know of.

He's very affordable and does excellent metal work and bluing. I'm not sure if he does parkerizing though. Worth a call at least.

Nick at Vulcan....he comes highly rated. He is in Windsor Ontario but just take a look at his client list....That should be more than enough to convince you where to take your business

My only issue is shipping there and back. I will call and ask about pricing. Does he have a website?

EDIT

Found it!
