Hey everyone,

After going back and fourth which ar to purchase I've decided to build my own. This way I can get exactly what I want etc.

So far I've purchased a aero precision lower in FDE and an aero enhanced upper receiver in FDE.

I'm currently trying to decide on barrel length and barrel manufacturer. I want something short but not lose too much fun functionality and accuracy/reach so I was thinking a 10.5in barrel. I also like the contrast a stainless barrel brings to the build unless convinced otherwise for performance etc.

Does anyone have any advice on manufacturer or deciding on barrel length. Budget is $400 I appreciate any and all advice, hope everything is having a good week.

Aero Barrels are worth a serious look.

The .223 Wykde mentioned above is only avail in 16" currently. Aeros' 10.5" comes in at $219 before taxes at SGW, as opposed to the Daniel Defense 10.3" or 11.5" barrels at Wolverine for $355 before taxes. Both of those sponsors are top-rated, you'll have no issues going with either.

Is the DD better than the Aero to warrant the $125 (roughly) cost difference? I doubt it, plus that difference can be put towards say a Rail, BUIS or optics later in the build. Just imo

If you really want to stay budget conscious, there's always the S&J 11.5" barrels from S&J Hardware (another sponsor)

Thanks that's great, have you heard anything about aero's accuracy? Can't seem to find much online about how they shoot.

10 .5 inch barrels can be tough to get running well. You might have to mess around with different buffers. They are also crazy loud. If you can stand it a 12.5 or longer can be more reliable and less "sensitive" to different ammo. That being said the shorties are pretty cool.

I have an 11.5 S&J barrel. I like it, it shoots better than I can.
