1st Doe ....yah !

Well I din't get skunked !.

..with the help of a dogger, and some time at a second camp this year, I managed to get myself my first doe. 125lbs dressed. The shot broke her shoulder and hit her in the heart as well. ( she was walking along )

And still a week of rifle season left, here close to home.

I'd put up picks of the rack, but, well, uh, there wasn't any...LOL

Now to think about shipping he hide out west for indian crafting.

Anyway, hope you had a good season even if you didn't get a deer. Time hunting is so much more fun than being back to work.

Actually Doug, the camp atmosphere there was totally different than the other camp I go to. When the deer was down, no-one was at all excited, except me. No congrats, no handshakes no nothing. BLAH !

Maybe 'cause they were all just an older bunch, or because some of them were party to the 5 they already had hanging in camp.

My other camp, its like you just won the freakin lotto when you get one. Well maybe you did...since we can only hunt bucks in Quebec.

Don't knock it if you haven't tried it.......

I have never heard of a camp, anywhere, with any age of hunters, where nobody congratulated a successful hunter on their kill, that is just plain odd.....

Thanks all, I thought it was quite odd about the lack of reactions.

It was about 45 mins to 1 hour before they all got to me to take the deer to camp, but we were all on radio's and even over the radio's there was little chatter when the deer was down.

P.S.
My Doe was the biggest Doe in camp at that point.

and I did get invited back next year.
