1st Gen Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP - Used Price?

I have an opportunity to purchase a used, but excellent condition Vortex scope from a co-worker. He bought it in 2015, used it for 50 rounds, and sold the rifle from what he's told me.

The scope is a 1st Generation Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP MOA.

He's asking $900 with rings, which I'm not sure is fair. Plus, I'd like to know what a fair offer would be without offending the guy.

I haven't been given access to EE to check prices, can anyone give me a ballpark on what is a fair/good deal for one of these?

More than a fair price for the FFP scope. The Gen2 is more expensive nowadays, so Gen1 holding its value pretty well. Depending on the rings, the market price for the mentioned setup should be around $950-1100.
 
Perfect! Exactly the responses I was hoping for. I'm fine with MOA, other than my hunting/shooting partner uses Milrad.

Sounds like he's not out to lunch on his pricing either. If everything looks good in person, I'll likely be pulling the trigger on it.
