1st Goher outing of the season (Graphic Pic's)

I took the camera but kept getting distracted by more targets of opportunity popping up, besides if you seen one blown up gopher :) I am not a big rimfire fan, been using my 223's but usually miss the impact. 204 in a fairly heavy rig ya get to see the spatter.

Another +1 for the .204 Ruger. No hold over up to 300 yards and low recoil enables shooter to view the effect in the scope.

Here is the result of a 32 grain V-Max on a Colombian Ground Squirrel, just a little bigger than the Richardson's Ground Squirrel (gopher).

Its been a slow start to gopher shooting this spring so I hope to make up for lost time when I head to SE Sask for a week in June.

Todays pics from my private spot

Got out right after work today, perfect day, took the 204 and ran out of ammo, came back with a 223.

This is what they were watching, a whole herd of jacks ran by, must have been 15 of the hoppers.

I left some breeding stock last year, obviously they have been busy:adult:

Great pictures. We should get together some time and do a home and home gopher shoot. I have a spot just outside of Etsikom (spelling)???:D
