This weekend is the first ORA service shoot of the year for us in Ontario. It is a "3 Gun" event and will be taking place at MilCun this Sat/Sun.

It will be good to get back at it after a long winter.

Shelldrake: I'll be seeing you on Sat AM, Barb (my wife and sniper partner, she owns the StealthII) will be there too.

We've got a full slate of shooters, Tim K tells me.

Any other CGNutters booked for the ORA 3 Gun match at 3W.Milcun.com ??

Cheers,
Barney

C Broad Arrow: I'm glad you are coming out for more. Which bangsticks are you using for Sniper and Service disciplines ?

Barb is coming out too. See you on Sat AM.

Hey Hungry...hows the hip?

I understand there is one more space availabe for the three gun.

I am bringing my service rifle that Keith built for me, and my trusty 7mmRemMag for sniper...

How about you?

The hip bone is still healing. My physiotherapist gave me SHZT for working the quadricep muscles to the point of having to ice 'em yesterday. I'm working the muscles to get some definition in them after the Orthop surgeon cut the shzt outta the quads in order to access the top of the femur (for the dislocation and grafting process).

I got way more definition in my upper body after 3 weeks of using the crutches. I've got my M700 .308 VS in AICS ready to go. I'm always using a simple Armalite 20" HBAR upper and Leupold MR/T 3x9x36mm M1 for Service. My wife is ready with her StealthII in .308 shooting 155 Sierra MK's moly'ed.

We are gonna have a great time with the ORA 3 Gun match. They are always the best, even if the Service Rifle matches are a hoot, the 3 gun is a howl.

See you on Sat....

Barney

Hats off to the ORA and the great match ... and I mean GRRRRRRREAT (as in Tony the Tiger). This was bar none the best match I have ever attended - whether it be IPSC, IDPA or Service Rifle. The MilCUn Marksmanship Complex is one of the nicest and scenic venues for shooting!

The organization was superb!
The course of fire, while well established, was well comunicated!
The food - both BBQ's was outstanding!
The ranges we excellent!
The prizes were thoughtful.

AND THE PEOPLE - THE PEOPLE - WERE TERRIFIC!!!!!!!

Well done Tim, Linda, Keith. Also thanks are equally extended to the Buts Captains, Dave and Tom... they ran the crews with their normal effiecient effort.

Looking forward to the next match in September!!!!!!!!

Well,, it was a good weekend. The weather cooperated and as "C Broad Arrow" states: it was a great match, professionally run, at a very nice facility.

Next for Ontario is:
  • Precison/Sniper Match in Borden on 4 Jun, and
  • The full up Service Rifle match in Ottawa on 17/18 Jun.
