Hi guys... I went down to Cape cod last week....While down there I picked up that mini amp from radio shack (the one that I was missing so I can make my electronic caller)...anyway...I put it together last night and thought I take it out this morning and try it out....Well about 15 mins after legal shooting hour I set up my caller....The first 2 minutes is of squirrels and black birds.....(sounds pretty cool)....While that is playing it gives me a chance to walk away and set up.....I set the caller out about 75 yds in the field and I am sitting on the edge of the bush..... The rabbit in distress call did not get a chance to play more than 30 secs before an adult coyote comes running out of the bush (75yds away from my left) and runs straight at the call.....I had my gun on my homemade bipod but he was moving to fast to place cross hairs on him. (he just caught me by surprise)...I thought he might stop for a second by no-way.....he ran straight to the call and when he got about 1 meter from it he must of realized something was up because he put it in a higher gear and really took off.....He came running across my right broadside about 75yds out....I took a off hand shot and missed.....I was excited and disappointed for not being ready.....Anyway....The call kept going and I have it so it stops the rabbit in distress call after a minute and have it play the squirrel and black bird for a minute before it returns to the rabbit in distress....I have the same sequence for about 30 mins.... After about the 5 mins or so I see another coyote coming in from my right but he holds up about 60yds out (little pup coyote)....He turns and starts to head back to the bush....but this time I have the crosshairs on him and on him well.......and bang.....I dead coyote....I have mixed feeling for taking such a small coyote....but.....................
Can't wait to get out and try it again....
Oh yeah...Just want to thank Varmit Al and everyone else for all there tips...
