As far as your choices go I can only add that I picked up the SIG P320 last year and am really pleased with it. I have never tried the Ruger so can't comment.
I will confess that after a few hundred rounds with the SIG, figured I better go pick up a .22 to do some affordable skills training. I am glad I did... it continues to be a great investment and the .22 comes to the range each and every time I shoot. (The .22 also has the added bonus of offering something a little less intimidating to first-time shooters in my family)
