+2, +3 +20 baseplate mag extension legality?

Hey guys

So i have seen +2 baseplate magazine extensions gor the glock 43. My question here is, is it unregulated?

In the case of the glock 43 its somewhat irrelevant because the mag holds 7 before the +2 extension. But if i had a glock 19 magazine, pinned to 10, would a magazine extension be a controlled item? It seems as long as the extension isn't installed on a magazine, becoming over 10 rounds, that it isn't controlled.

I have seen c96 20 round base plate extensions as well. As long as it isn't installed on the C96 it isn't regulated? And if i choose to install it, i have to make sure it is limited to 10 rounds?

Thanks for any help on this one guys, seems like a gray area, I cant find anything definitive.

If the mag is pinned to 10 as in your example, it's pinned to 10. Were it an unpinned 10 round mag with an extension, then it seems like there might be a question

But would just owning a +whatever extension be legal? Regardless of if its installed or not

I would think so, only if it were on an unpinned magazine would it become a prohibited device. But that's just a guess.

Should be legal unless it has been declared a prohibited device.
