Went out this morning to do some calling and see if we could get some coyotes today. Started at sun up and right off the bat seen five out in a field. Set up and started to call using female location call. was getting responses from all over.

Ended up calling one in from behind us but a truck coming down the road spooked him back from where he was coming from and left from there.

Went and did a few more stands. Again we had coyotes calling from everywhere around us. Wasn't until the next two stands before we got one down. took about a 100 yard shot and he was down and in the back of the truck.
Started to head to the next stand where we seen two on the side of the road. Went in and started calling next thing I know there are four coming in on a string. I had my other two friends set up for these ones, since I shot the last one. They got one shot off at these four and missed. Well that kind of sucked but it was still fun having them come in and get the chance.

Off to the last stand of the day, and we always have luck at this stand. Start with the female coyote long howl and then switch to the bae bee cottontail and nest thing you know there are two coming in on a string. I get down behind the 204 and look over at my other buddy thinking that he was already on the second dog, and I let it buck. I drop my dog but I didn't hear my friend shoot right away. Jacked another shell in and tried to get the second on the run, but no luck.

Anyways here's a pic of the two dogs we got.

Nice pair, how are your stitching skills?
Gun and Caliber of choice is?
Thanks for taking the time and link to pictures.
You going to tan the hides yourself?
Rob

I actually shot both of them myself. With a Remington 700 sps in .204. The one that has the big gaping hole in it's back is because my friend shooting a .243 58 grain bullet thought it needed to be finished off. The hide was so bad that it wasn't worth skinning.

But the other one I skinned last night. ( first one. YouTube is great). And has minimal damage to the hide and will be easy to fix. Hoping to get out Monday and try my luck some more.

I have a brother in law that is into taxidermy , so I'm going to see what he would like to do with it.
