So i bought a CZ 858 along with a few aftermarket parts and have ran into two problems .

Problem 1 , the aftermarket fiber optic front sight is loose , anything except a snug to tight fit . It was somewhat discussed in one of the above stickies but to me it isn't clear how to resolve it . I was thinking either red locktite or teflon plumbing thread tape , maybe both . What should i do ?

Problem 2 , the big one . The extended bolt release . If i "do not" have a mag in the rifle and pull the bolt back , it locks back . Press the release and the bolt slams forward . Good . With a mag "in the rifle" , upon pulling the bolt back , it locks back . Good . Press the bolt release and the bolt won't release and fly forward . Doesn't matter how much pressure , the bolt release won't move . Anyone else ever run into this , any solutions or suggestions ? It actually looks like the bolt release is higher with no mag in the rifle with clearence on the bottom of the release between the release and the ambi-mag release so there is room to press down and release the bolt . With a mag in there doesn't appear to be enough clearence between the bolt release and ambi-mag release to press the bolt release down , to let the bolt fly . I'm not gunsmith and don't know what to do or if what i've written above is the cause . Everything was dealer installed because i'm not so good at mechanical things . If anyone can suggest something simple i can look for and hopefully do , break it down so i can understand it and i'll try . Fack , it's deer season , i just received it and don't want to send it back .

Problem 1 : remove the front sight. There is a slot in the shaft. Insert a flat screwdriver into the slot and gently rotate to open up the hole. This will increase its diameter and provide a tighter fit.

Problem 2 : Most common problem with the TBR is with people trying to release the bolt on an "empty" magazine. It is for releasing on a reload. When the magazine is empty the entire magazine spring is pushing up on it when the follower contacts the TBR. You are in fact trying to press down on the mag spring with the tip of your finger. Solution: Put in a full mag, or remove the mag. The bolt release was never designed to release a captured bolt over a empty mag, only to assist releasing the bolt on a full mag in reload.

If you want to practice dry firing with an empty mag, insert a quarter or washer in the top of the mag to allow the follower to depress.

NEA , Thank You for the fast responce . I was doing it exactly the way you said but i'll try it out for real tomorrow .
