I know this will not be new to some if not most. I got a Glock 17 Gen 4 as soon as they came out. I should have waited for GLOCK to work out the kinks I guess. It had some problems.
The trigger safety wasn't properly built... the safety would pull too far forward in the reset position and snag the trigger itself so the entire trigger couldn't be pulled back at all without playing it out a bit. A replacement trigger bought online solved that problem.
I got the new recoil spring guiderod assembly after the recall put out by GLOCK.
But for the past two years I've been getting Brass to the Face and stovepipes and finally learned through Google that it was due to an ejector that GLOCK was installing on the first Gen 4s to hit the market. I contacted GLOCK and they knew exactly what I was talking about and replaced it with a new, slightly different ejector. After one run out to the range, I feel it has resolved the problem.
I ran some video footage in slow motion to observe the ejection pattern (as if the tidy pile of brass on the snow wasn't good enough) and have put that footage together in the following video.
Anyway, now I'm confident the problem is finally fixed.
