Hi there, I have a question regarding my cooey single shot 20 gauge.

I find the hammer really narrow, and because of this, it's quite hard to pull back. Not a big deal but it does cost me a split second when spotting game sometimes. I drove a small piece of lead, about the width of my thumb onto the hammer as a test and it makes a huge difference havingt he wider purchase, but of course, its lead so with repeated pulls it eventually worked its way off due to being to soft. Anyone know a quick, cheap and simple mod for sticking something onto the hammer to make it a little wider? This must be a common problem. I don't care how it looks, this is just my bunny blaster, its all about function.

Cut a brass or steel oval of a comfortable size and fasten it onto the hammer with 2 small machine screws like 6 - 40. You might want to file any existing serrations off the hammer for a tight fit. You could do that with the hammer still mounted in the receiver.

Hey guys thanks for all the suggestions. I bought a hammer extension for $9 at a gun shop just down the road. It didn't really fit, as the guy had nothing for cooeys, so I just reamed it out a bit with a dremel tool, fastened it on, and then jammed a bunch of jb weld into all the cracks for a very tight fit. Last night I stripped the old girl down and blued her, and now she's a real beauty, and it doesn't fell like I'm bending a 3" nail over with my thumb every time I #### the trigger. Going bunny-blastin' tomorrow, wish me luck, and thanks!
