There is only one real choke, full of course, good to at least 25 yards with the 28.

Cool. Thanks. I can do a little better with No.8 and full normally 40 yards at least consistently on doves & quail but no experience on cape buffalo those I save for the 410

I don't think you need full choke on cape buffalo at 25 yards, they're pretty big and easy to hit!

Glad some are having fun kicking the 28ga owners. They make is sound to me like us 28ga lovers have no experience with the 20ga.. I know my herd has been reduced big time in the last 10 years but I can assure you I shot , reloaded and owned a hell of a lot of them over the years and still I think can go gun for gun with most 20ga owners here so can still join the 20ga club Nothing wrong with a 20ga unless you were hatched / raised on the 16 and 28 as I was and reload

The Hunting Dog podcast just did a recent episode with Dave Miller from CZ USA, and they discussed the 28 at length, in particular the fact that it is a "square load".

Worth listening to. Definitely piqued my interest with regards to a 28 for upland.

I often use a standard 12ga 1100 with a cylinder 21.5" barrel and 7/8 oz reloads. Southern grouse and cottontails dont have a chance

So I bought & received a Canuck Hunter Auto loader in 20ga. from Bullseye London. 28" bbl with 5 chokes. Took it out for a test drive today & man oh man does she shoot good! Look out turkeys! Ya I know gotta call 'em into range first.
