Hello all, I tried searchig the forum as to not double up on a question already asked.
I am looking for some 20 gauge #9 shells for my son's Winchester 101. The shells are for shooting skeet (requirement at our gun club). Living in Ontario.
Thanks.

Anybody know what the reason for the #9 shot requirement is?
Exactly as antiqueguy says, it's so that pellets fall shorter to accommodate range boundaries. Our club has a trap range that only allows 7 1/2 or higher but 7 1/2 is good for target. #9 seems a little excessive but it's their rules.

My local trap/skeet club says 7 1/2 or smaller for trap and 9’s for skeet think it has to do with the shape of the property.
