Does anybody know where I can get some 20 gauge ammo?
3 inch mag, duck loads, in 2s or 3s. Something more than 1 oz. would be nice.
My dad isn't hunting anymore so I've got his shotgun and would like to keep it working.

You can't stuff more than 1 oz of steel in a 20 ga hull, so that wish will go unfulfilled. Your location would help us make suggestions for sources. I know of a few in Saskatoon.

I'm out in central BC, there is no ammo out here.
I thought there was 1 1/8 oz steel loads out there.
It's been a while since I shot a 20 or looked for ammo.

#3 work great on ducks. I wouldn't go larger in a 20 ga. #4 would be my alternate choice.

And I choose higher velocity over bigger payload. But that's just me.

Federal #3 7/8oz blue box or 1oz premium red box @ 1350 have both worked well for me in the 20ga. The Kent 7/8oz is OK also. I believe it is Winchester, has a 1-1/16oz Blindside load, I won't buy Blindside for myself, though. And of course there is Hevimetal 1oz if you can find any.
WW also have a 1oz in the Dryloks at 1350fps.
Any of those loads will kill ducks to some pretty impressive ranges out of my CZ. Killed a few snows & specks with it, too, over dekes, in da lips, not pass shooting.

Del in Vernon?
Powderkeg in Kamloops?
Westsyde Stores in Salmon Arm?
David Jennings in Pritchard?

If you strike out with these shops, Kelowna stores?

Kent 7/8 3's are my preferred, most other loads drive the same charge of shot considerably slower so why not take the speed advantage. If I could get a 1oz load doing 1400-1450fps that would be my preference though. Winchester blindside and remington's hypersonics I am not a fan of, blinsides its just the cost, but the hypersonics are almost dangerously over pressure in my opinion, I watched hunting partners recoil buffer come apart in a single morning shooting them. Federal's black cloud would be my preferred load if they used the same wad but loaded it with round shot only and charged a more competitive price.

Not sure what part of central BC you are in but if you end up a bit north there is a new gun store in PG now, Nechako Sports or something like that near the Costco. If you get out to Terrace for some reason the Misty River Tackle shop has an excellent gun section. I picked up 16 gauge ammo there for $13/box last time through. Large gun selection as well so bring your cheque book.

I am shooting a SX3 20 ga this year for main gun and I have some Kent, fed, hevi metal and rem 3 inch shells all work well but I added a wad wizard choke tube and it throws unreal patterns not I don't feel one bit under gunned against a 12.
