20 gauge

I use my 12ga for hunting. I have a tactical-ish 20ga and one of my ranges does not allow lead shot. Also wouldn't mind some for an upcoming competition.

Slugs aren't hard to find, but 20g buck is impossible lol looked everywhere from cabelas to bass pro canada ammo to ammo source no where states maybe but not here

Slugs aren't hard to find in small quantities, but buckshot is challenging. IMO, the best thing to do would be to place a big order at a local dealer and wait for it to come in. You should get a bit of a discount if you order a large quantity.

More interested in slugs, I saw lebarons has them but I'd rather find them closer or support a good shop and order them in. I also noticed lebarons had steel shot for under $10 for 25 which would be great for the lead free range.

no its not steel shot at say a indoor range or even a range with a bullet build up

please explain since you seem to be an expert in my range

It's an environmental impact thing (that makes no sense since lead slugs/ammo are allowed)

steel shot likes to bounce around when it hits steel or something hard dont ask how i know theres alot of things i do once and once only :p

shot is also prone to bouncing around this is why its not allowed on alot of ranges so no its not a enviromental thing (if they let lead ammo they have no concern that way)

buckshot is allowed because it uses bigger pellets witch have more energy and flaten out or lose all velocity

I guess you missed my point... The only ammo we are not allowed on our range is lead shot (lead bullets/slugs are allowed). It's an outdoor range with dirt and sand backstops. We do have steel targets but the rule has nothing to do with shooting them. If you still don't believe me, I know some of the other members are on here and can chime in.

You are bang on there lol. Apparently, from what I heard, it is something to do with birds eating the lead shot
