I have been taking my mark II out farther and farther and now realise the need for a 20 moa base on it. going from 50 meters to 100 meters is handled by the scopes internal elevation, but the 40 inches the bullet drops from 100 meters to 200 meters is a problem. I don't have mil dots to use a different point of aim and don't want to go this route if possible. I know I can shim my bases but I want to do it right. Anyone know where to pick up a one piece 20 moa base in canada or a place that will ship to canada?

try Evolution Gun Works .. they ship to Canada.

Another way to go is to use Burris Signature Zee rings. They are very high quality rings that have adjustable inserts that will give you up to 20MOA. You can get them from Mystic Precision. Rings w/inserts costs about $80. I've got them on two rifles and they work perfectly.

I have had a set of burris zee rings before and don't like using the inserts for elevation (I really do like the rings though). I like to lap the rings once setup and not add anything inside. I am of the opinion that you should not shim inside the ring but only shim under the base. That is just me and what I think though. Thanks to "JT trouble" though I went to EGW and picked up a 20 MOA rail. It was $69 or so after shipping was added in but I am a happy guy now. Shooting is my main hobby so money is not much of an object as long as I end up with what I want in the end. 200 yards beware I am coming for you......... On a side note is there anywhere a guy can get a 40 MOA rail? After 200 I am going to at least try 300 before I can accept that it is just too far for a .22. In reality I will just shim for 300 because I believe it will be beyond what I will consider acceptable accuracy. But imagine if you could reload your own .22's? Wouldn't that be great?

If you go the EGW route be sure to read the blurb and measure your ejection port to get the correct base for your MkII. The newer MkII's have a larger port, and actually use the 93 base.

That is a good idea. Never thought of it. Cheaper than buying rings AND a rail!

More flexible too. Mount a 20 MOA rail and then you have to use the scope's internal adjustments. If you want to switch to shorter distances you may not have enough left. With the Zees you can get it pretty close to zero at any distance then fine tune it with the scope adjustments.

If you're going to use the rifle exclusively for long distance the rail is good. Otherwise the Zees are a better choice. And, as you point out, it saves the cost of one component. The Zee inserts are rock solid. I've never had any of mine come off zero in years of use. (Did I say two rifles before? Actually I've got them on three.)
