I just recently installed my R700 into an AI chassis and theres not enough space between the cheek rest and the scope for me to comfortable/easily use it. My friend, who has a similar set up, uses one of these rails to raise his scope. I am planning on doing something similar to my rifle but i have no idea which manufacturers to start looking into.

Any suggestions?

Please note I am on a somewhat tight budget due to other rifle projects.

Thanks!

It may be less expensive to purchase EGW from a Canadian CGN dealer, such as us and we stock all Rem EGW rails.

I just bought a cheap'ish picatinny rail from Brownells a few weeks ago. I think it was kind of their house brand but seems pretty decent for the price.

I just got one from MysticPrecision here on this site. Good price. Excellent communication. Really nice guy with good reccommendatons for my noob-ie-ness. :D

Can someone tell me what the difference is between the Heavy Duty and standard version of the Rem 700 pic rail from EGW? Both look like they're made from aluminum.

Type of alloy (6 series vs 7 series). Longer extension on the HD units and it is thinner/lower

For our uses, there is little to no functional difference but there is in price.

If tall is what you need, the Farrell is the tallest you can get. Very well made steel unit for a great price relative to its peer products.

I was looking for a 20 MOA rail for my 338 lapua. I know the recoil isnt crazy but I want to make sure I get something that will stand-up without breaking the bank.

I have a ATR rail on my 6.5x47 lapua but Im hoping I dont have to spend $175 to get something that'll stand up.

If height is what you need for comfort, you should be looking at taller rings.

If its the base you want, Ill agree with Jerry that Farrell is the tallest base you will find.

i am already using weaver's extra high scope rings. I might switch over to see through rings. Im not in a rush so im going to shop around for a bit but the farrell base does look promising
