200 grainers

don't know about 30-06 but I'm using these bullets in my 308 heavy barrel Win 70.

barrel does not like light bullets :(

for hunting I'm loading up 200 grn Nosler Accubonds stuffed on top of 69grn powder IMR 7895 ?? I don't remember off the top of my head ?? in a 300WM, should be just about right for Moose :)

Does anyone shoot 200 grain Sierra Boat tails out of their .30-06? What is your recipe for this? How do you find the effectiveness on game?

Thanks

Try RL22, and work up toward the neighborhood of 58 gr. with standard primers. You should find a 'sweet spot' somewhere north of 56 gr., depending on the brass you use and the rifle you use it in.

That's my bullet of choice in my .308 Norma Magnum using IMR 4350 powder & CCI 250 primers. I'd be tempted to try the same brand of powder & primers in your .30-06. The IMR 4350 charges for the '06 in the Sierra manual using that bullet range from 44.2grs - 53.7grs, I'd probably start @ about 50grs.
In my '06 I use the same brand of powder & primers with the Sierra 180gr SBT.

H4831sc works well with 200 grainers in the 30-06. 58 grains gives around 2500-2600 fps. RL22 would work equally well with similar if not identical charge weights. I personally do not care much for Sierra bullets for hunting edible game.
