I saw pics here a few months back showing the new ar180b. I believe it was coming out in 2006.. anyone have any info? Thanks.

the fairy tales running around down here are folding stock and aluminium receiver. I doubt it will happen, Armalite is having enough problems keeping up with the SASS and the regular Ar-10 stuff.

In the pics, they had an a2 and a4 version.. looked alomost identical to the ar15. I think it spawned a debate as to whether they would get restricted once they hit Canada.

So if the new version was to become restricted, there would be no non-restricted new AR180b's? Unless they produced both the original AR180b and the new 2006 model. Hmmmmm......not sure if that is a good thing if only a new updated restricted version becomes the only option. A big lure to the 180b's is it's non-restricted classification. Maybe for Canadians things are better left the way they are .

That would make you an a**hole.

Blow me.:p

... I figured that if I posted this, that SOMEBODY around here, especially you Armedsask would remember what I'm talking about. It was something like a 12 page post rambling on about possible classification issues, and THE PICS were from a gun show in the states. Guess I'll keep looking...

...a pic with the green furniture ones in the background with the a2 handle is the one that I'm talking about (ladys head is blocking it)... but this is the general idea.

what kind of flash hider is on that, it doesn't look like the old design.....?

what else can you tell me about it?

I've seen that pic. All the rifles in the background are AR15's.

The changes to the so called AR180C are a pic rail and flashider, not much else.

when will these be available in Canada? ANyone contacted John at Wolverine about these? The price should not be any great difference.

I have to agree these pics of the AR180C are somewhat dated. The rifles on the back wall of the display look like AR15s ... partly cause they are. A2 standard flashhider, whats up with that front sight? its like four inches tall :)

The Ar180B has no real following in the states except for cost-savings over an AR15. The there are no real advantages to them when you can use the AR15 series without the restrictions that we have in Canada. The original AR180 was a good economical design at the time, semi auto only, stamped frame. ...partly to compete with the COMBLOC SKS rifles.

I doubt that Armalite will be able to cater to such as small market such as Canada, although their modifications would be simple enough. I personally like the A2 flashider and rail.

Those sights will work fine if you are using Armedsask's respirator, lol. Otherwise get used to a nice chinweld.
They should keep the original sights and add a Pic rail if they are going to do anything. And sheetmetal receiver :)
