Welcome to Port Coquitlam District Hunting and Fishing Club (PCDHFC) on Burke Mountain BC

Are you here yet? Lots of shooters registered Monday with most expected today, Tuesday. Just to remind you that the range will be closed at 7 pm tonight.
Remember that shooting starts on Wednesday morning.

All shooters must be on stage by 7:45 am. Early is better. If you are not ready to shoot by 8:00 am you may ZERO the stage. :( The range officials will be tough on that. There are 250 shooters so there will be only a few minutes for each shooter and for course walkthru.

READ YOUR REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS! Lots of important info there!

Good Luck to All Shooters and Remember to Have a Good Time!

When did they put this in the rule book?
Or is this one of those range rules to make the competitor feel welcome ?

May be especially difficult to make it to the range on time considering that rush hour traffic is brutal in that area. Maybe not so bad for people staying at the hotel at the bottom of the hill, but worse for people living locally.

The idea is to make sure everyone is ready to shoot on time so the rest of the squads don't have to wait. There tends to be a huge ripple effect on the whole match, if someone makes everyone else late at the beginning of the day. Early is good. Plan ahead.

It will be at the Officials discretion to determine if they can fit the late shooter in without making everyone else late.

Hungrybeagle, I have to be there by 6:30 am. So you know what time we have to leave home. No traffiic problems for me and DVC1911.

Love to see that some people have the balls to stand behind their convictions and not show up for this match. Oh wait no they don't they did show up.
Looked at the stages tonight, nothing super fancy like last year, but good solid stages, something that's been missing in my opinion. I love fancy stuff, lots of steel (even though I hardly ever hit it), but good stages that test all your abilities are something seldom seen, at least out here. Most times a match is setup geared toward one style of shooter. This match has a little bit of everything for everybody.

Rule 6.6.1 Competitors must compete for score according to the published match and squadding schedule. A competitor who is not present at the scheduled time and date for any stage may not attempt that stage without the prior approval of the Match Director, failing which the competitor's score for that stage will be zero.

Not every body Rob. Some of use have the balls to stand behind our convictions

I know some of you guys did, but some of the more, lets just say, some didn't. you guys are missed though.

6.6.1, interesting. I've never heard of anyone that plans on being at a match less then 30min before they start. Oh well, not my problem.

I attended today (Weds) from about 11:30 to about 2:00 or so as a spectator - if you saw a guy in a green shirt & khakis who *didn't quite* belong, that was me. I happened to be in the area on business, am from Edmonton. I'm a shooting noob, and this was my first 'live' exposure to IPSC. Very favourable first impression indeed. The Port Coq range is an amazing facility.

Len from Phoenix was kind enough to give me a 15 minute tour of one of the stages that was empty during the lunch hour and explain the stage, the scoring, and some of the finer points of the competition. THANKS (again) LEN!

Lots of vendor reps and tables of gear set up. Everyone seemed real friendly, tho a couple guys eyeballed me as I was hanging near the back of a stage watching, as their gear bags were on benches near me....and, dressed for business tho I was, I obviously didn't quite fit in  250 armed (mostly) civilians walking around, what I'm going to try to make off with some gear?? :runaway:

Did feel sorry for one competitor who wiped out hard on the rough, very loosely packed crushed granite gravel and both injured and DQ'd himself. Insult to injury. I admit thinking that gravel should have been much more packed down than it was, especially for this type of competition....I suspect you all may see similar incidents in the next few days.

Good luck, everyone.:canadaFlag:

I arrived on my stage, (2 and 3) about 7:45 ish and we started on time. We ran about even all day. When I ro'ed (yesterday) we had some stage glitches and pretty much ran about 20 mins behind all day,but shooters in general were 20 mins behind. That was a long day.. One advantage that I and another shooter had was that we ro'ed ont he stage we started on this am, so walkthrough or no, we already knew what worked and what didn't. Today was a nice mix of up close and distant targets. I felt that I did well, not too blazing, and not too conservative. We had 1 dq in our squad (right before I shot) on the last stage of the day. Sweeping.. was quite a bummer. I look forward to the Sat am shoot.. I'm curious how I fared against the other revo guys..

Sooo... No comments from anyone on the 50 yard fixed time stage????

I have to admit, I was worried at first, since our first four shooters didn't even bother to try the reloads. But once I was up there, it seemed a better stage (plus after the scoring, I had a smile on my face, so that helped..)

Today's are up... sorry, I had to get home first, they don't have Internet access at the range.

http://www.ipscbc.org/results/results.php

They won't give me the overalls to post, but the stage results are there. You can do individual shooter lookups; I dragged them into Excel and have an idea about the leaders in Open and Production.

Open seems to be
Martin
Don -100
Chris -135
Brian -151
Brad -154
Mike -168
Alex -194
Josko -196

There may be others in there that I missed, but I hit most of the top shooters.

In Production:
Angus is winning
Nick K -19
Clint M -51
Dallas T -95
Rob E - 112
Kent H -147
Jamieson -207
Cliff M -262

Standard
Manny B is leading
Mike B -15
Don L -145
Pascal -147

Okay, I'm tired. I'm not adding up any more scores.

Cheers!

gotta love zeroing two stages eh? had one good run, and a couple all right ones. Not really in the running for anything this year though, and I knew that going in. nice to see some new faces pushing everyone though, PD has really grown quite nicely.
