Well, after a long time with out an M14-(since Century was in Mtl.)I recently picked up one on a trade...anything to look at for this particular year? She seems to run ok...
Other than a cosmo clogged spindle valve when I first got her 4 years ago (and the overabundance of cosmoline in general upon the initial purchase ), I have had no issues with my 2007 M305S whatsoever. You will want to get rid of the (soft) Chu wood stock, however, and there are plenty of alternatives out there nowadays. Here's what mine looks like now:
Welcome to the club..your off to a really good start with the stock and sights you have and upgrade the op rod spring guide, these are a great rifle and tweaking them a bit is not too hard.
If the front sight isnt canted a bit and the gas lock ring gets nice and tight at the 6:00 position life is good. Read up on the popsicle stick fix for your stock if it hasnt been done already.
Try and get on a clinic as they are a wealth of info.
