2007 or 2009 Norinco M14/M305 ?

I've gone through about 500 Malay surplus rounds, maybe 100 Federal 180gn, and have cycled a few reloads (150gn Spitzer) through my 2007 M305S, with no issues at all. As a matter of fact, I have fitted her with a Bsquare mount and a Leopould Rifleman scope to be my deer hunting rig for this season. Very accurate, problem free rifle.
You will find that the 09 Norc ( I have an 09 Poly and i dont see welds on it either) does not have the flash suppressor micro welded on. Removal was very easy, back off set screw, back off castle nut light tap on suppressor and it came of no problem. Earlier years had 2 micro weld under the suppressor. Damaging the suppressor or barrel when it was hammered off.
This just make things easier for those who want to tinker on there own rifle.

Both are good. 2009 may have a boyonet lug. The 2009's seem to be a bit tighter too. Not a big deal as both need some tuning and will end up the same once tuned. Probably the bigest difference is the 2007's came with a chu wood stock. Plastic is better but Boyds or USGI is better still.

The fit/finish & quality on the 09's are real nice.
Around 4000 through her since Nov and no issues.
It's the only firearm I've ever owned that hasn't failed in some way or another.
