so we have 2 many black bears and grizz in this area nowadays so myself and Foxer have decided to hold a spring bear bash and we thought it would be fun to get some gunutz together, it will be held in Burns Lake BC so any BC resident and gunutz member is welcome and there family any out of province guys that may be interested give me or foxer a PM and we will see if we can get permits for it, it will be over maylong weekend and camping is free at several lakes and forestry campsites in the area :D

let us know what you think

you bet will be some awsome trout and laketrout fishing to be had in the area at this time of year as the ice will have just gone out and the surface will still be cold, babine lake has produced rainbows up to 8lbs and lakers up to 35lbs for us in the past in the spring

Foxer has a couple folks coming up with him, and myself/son and nefew all have grizzly LEH's for the area as well

from 2 of the better campsites over 300kms of logging roads can be covered easily with some insain bear hunting to be had and like we said everyones welcome even if they just want to camp and fish

Have some great fun out there guys, I will be in BC this summer but no hunting for me, I have been told we will be camping in the mountains though, I am excited.

no you dont need to hire a guide, what you do need is a acompany to hunt permit, these take a bit to apply for and get in, basicaly what it is, is a permit saying I or whomever in BC that aplies for it will take responsibility for you and your hunting trip, basicaly a free guide so to speek, also the permits are only available to certain animals in certain areas, black bear is 1 of the easily gotten ones, the only downfall is whomever holds the ermit must treat it as a guided hunt meaning you have to be with that person and within talking distance of that person at all times during the actual hunt.

something that is better applied for in january or febuary to make sure its here in time as well

I lived and hunted in the North Okanagan years ago, now I live and try to hunt in Ontario. I guess my hunting card for B.C. wouldn't be good anymore, would it?

that it true its best to apply around christmas time or right after that way your ready to go when its time, the trip this year may get bumped up to early may the way our weather is right now, snow is almost all gone, in past years its been a couple weeks into may before we saw sign of bears I am thinking we will see sign by the end of april this year
