This innovation created by Doug Harvey of Alberta Sporting Clays Association fame, is being held this weekend at the Montreal Skeet Club just west of Montreal. Unfortunately, most of the shooters are staying off island in Valleyfield in a somewhat economicaly depressed area with the closing of Goodyear and several industries. Most will miss out on the joys and "Le je ne sais quoi" of Montréal, the food, wine and party capital of Canada. There is no other area in Canada that has more eateries per population, second only to San Francisco in North America!

47 of the top and some for just being able to shoot with the top are in the event. A good Bienvenue by Elie Zarife and Anne Labreque's cd of Oh Canada started the weekends event. Today, it was the 200 target sporting course. It was shot on 10 stations this morning with the same 10 stations being reshot this afternoon.

Tomorrow there is a variety of skeet and trap targets presented of which all variances of American and Olympic disciplines. Lunches are on the house as well as a BBQ tomorrow night. Sunday is the 8 am FITASC followed by the Grand Final.

I have put some pictures of the opening and sporting clays, in my website under the STOREFRONT, 2009 Canadian Shotgun Championship, for your viewing.

I will try to take some more tomorrow and Sunday morning before going to La Roue du Roy for their Classique on Sunday.

Best regards,
Henry;)

Matt Vianello was high on the Sporting by several targets. He was THE champion last year and is on a good run after several shoots in the US!

Regards,
Henry;)

He was only two ahead at 184 over junior Shawn Stitt at 182. Next up is Jan Kulhay at 178. I got some of todays 5 Stand, Skeet and various trap presentations in my site. A good lunch of burgers, dogs etc was served free to all participants and companions.

FITASC tomorrow and the grand final later in the afternoon.

Regards,
Henry;)

Congratulations to all ....

Not surprised with the result. Both Tony & Matt have been at the front of the leaderboards here in S. Ont. for several years. Tough guys to get past !

Thanks for all the great pics Henry. Between you and Joe P, I can almost imagine being there.
A good time was had by all from what I understand. Even the bunker worked, at least better than ours did in Calgary. I still hang my head in shame over that.
Great pics.

We all met up Sunday night at Magano near where I live. Now, that was some LOUD partying! We closed the restaurant and a few still were talking in the parking lot when I drove off.

I am in New Jersey for the Game Conservancy at Griffin & Howe's Hudson Farm. Now, this is a very fancy place!

I will have pics up by Monday and a feature in ClayShootingUSA, this winter.

Next week, it is the Orvis Cup at Orvis Sandanona. It is one really good place to shoot!

Best regards,
Henry;)

I had meetings on Friday after taking pictures in the morning at the club. Saturday, I took a few more pictures before going to a plant North of Montreal. Sunday, I had a shoot at my club, La Roue du Roy.

There were no funds dispersed to any charitable organisation. So, I don't understand "good cause".

Regards,
Henry;)
