were held in crowsnest pass yesterday July 11 and i won it with a blistering 82! what a low score you may thing and you would be right. i normally shot an A class score of around 95. We couldn't figure out why our scores were so low until we put our minds to work. we figure it was dues to a number of factors. here are some of the reasons i feel affected our scores.

First off the machine was not located in the house but in front of the house and was set lower. i figured this added the equivalent of at least 2 yards to the birds.

the next problem was that the house was a bit high and there were trees on the range that i felt fell into the 100 yard clear area radius.

The next problem was that the machine was aimed a bit right and was not levelled. the birds came out of the house canted a bit to the right. Here is a view off of position 1. the birds were just going to the left of the tree on the left edge of the picture when standing at number 1. right hand birds were going out almost in line with the back of the truck cab.

On number 5 they were going hard right. they were hitting the top of the tree above the drivers seat in this picture.

there were other clues as well. one f the guys changed from his modified to his full choke and started to hit better.

All in all i think we were shooting about a 22 to 24 yard handicapped event that was presented to us as 16 yards single.

Some people may ask why i didn't complain and the answer was simple. we either shot what was there or we went home. since it wasn't an ATA event and since it was the same for all of us i figured lets shot it as it is and see what happens. what happen was we all had low scores.

EXACTAMUNDO!!:)
Everybody shot the same birds, so everything was equal.
Same goes for those that refuse to shoot Lawry clays, only Caldwells - everybody's shooting the same birds in the same wind, with the same rain, etc.
Congratulations Walter!:D
