Here are the details off of another site. The Week of Sept 28th
North State Shooting Club intends to do as well in 2009. We will sponge as much information from Karin and Earl as possible. What would they repeat? What would they do differently?
I am opening this topic on this forum to get input from all the F-Class competitors. What would you like to see repeated? What would you like done differently? All your responses will be considered. I am getting an early start to get you thinking about it while the 2008 FCNC is fresh on your mind.
The match will be the week of September 28, 2009 but the dates are not finalized until we work out the range availability with the North Carolina National Guard.
Some of the ideas we are talking about within the club already:
1) Lunch served each day and will be part of your entry.
2) Target pullers (Butt markers for you Europeans) if we can get enough for all targets.
3) Pop-ups available to cover all firing points for days that rain is in the forecast.
4) Large tent for vendors and tables for sitting and eating.
5) Making campground information available for the RVs. There is an RV campground about 5 miles from the range and others within 20 miles.
6) Contacts for organizing hotels, rental cars, etc for our foreign competitors.
7) A local contact to ship ammo and other equipment.
8) A local contact with FFL in case someone wants to ship their rifle(s).
9) Having reloading equipment available and set up for those competitors that may need to load their ammo after they arrive.
10) A contact for vendors and those that want to make donations for awards and door prizes.
I will be Match Director but the match is being put on as a team effort by NSSC. I am not the person making the decisions prior to the match. All decisions regarding organization of the match go through our Board of Directors and officers. I am on the BOD so I do have some say.
Camp Butner, NC is close to Raleigh and Durham and the famous Research Triangle Park. Duke University is about 20 miles from the range. The closest airport is Raleigh-Durham International (RDU) and is 30 miles away.
Camp Butner has 50 firing points but we negate 6 positions due to range flags. So we will have room for 176 competitors with 4 relays (details). You can find more information and directions at our Website.
We are excited by this opportunity to host the FCNC again where it was first born and look forward to all your comments:
