Hi folks, just a quick question and I'm hoping for input...I am currently trying new loads for my .45s and wanted to try 6.4 grains of Universal behind a 200gr SWC...has anyone tried such a combination already, and if so, did it work out satisfactorily? The reason I am asking is that I am on a tight schedule, so range time is limited at the moment and I don't want to load up a batch of ammo, then head to the range only to find it doesn't cycle the action of my pistol properly...and yes, that has happened before with loads that looked good on paper. Thanks for any input you may have!

Any input you might get will be of limited interest, all pistols are different. Load development is gun-specific.

I usually start mid-way when loading .45s, 'cause when I started reloading I used to start at minimum and had many experiences where the loads were too weak to cycle the action. Very frustrating.

Oh I agree that what works for one may not work for another...but still, I was hoping to hear if anyone had tried it and whether or not it worked for them. I've had similar frustrating experiences with both 9mm and .45...including what the Lee manual has listed as a max load of Blue Dot for .45ACP.
