200gr bullets in 308 Winchester

A QUALITY 165/168 will actually work better than a crappy 200gr. 165s are just fine for moose and definitely enough for deer. If you absolutely need to use 200gr, then 30-06 or 300Mag would be better.

I use 165 interlocks for everything in 308 including moose. 200s are a little slow in my opinion. They will work but velocity would be slow and expansion questionable if you don't hit bone on longer shots. IMO

for my rifle, the 165 Interlock is accurate, and dependable. Never had a failure, and like this quote, I also use it on everything, including moose. 180 grain and up do not shoot well in my rifle.

I load 200gr Lapua Mega bonded in my 308 with RL17. Does around 2400 fps from the 18.5" barrel. Good close range bear load
