So been shooting 200gr gas checked bullets in my 303 and been using 30gr of 3031, can't really find much data for cast in 303 however I recently came across a lyman 45th edition.. And although they don't list 3031 with cast they do list using 32-36gr 3031 for 215 jacketed my question is would it be safe to use this jacketed data to work up a load for the 200gr cast.. Start again but at 32gr and work up?

I use imr 3031in alot of my lee enfields, i load 26-30gr with a 205 grain cast bullet. 30 gr gives me just over 1800fps. Ive seen loads listed upto 36gr . I bet you would be ok to start at 32gr and work your way up if you want more fps. Cast will move down the barrel a lot easier then a jacketed bullet. I have no problem using jacketed load data with cast bullets of the same weight

I actually like the 30gr load.. But just want to play and see how much I can push the cast without leading.. The 200 gr bullets have a good fit in one of my smle and my p14

It should be fine, and the only concern would be if seating depth is markedly different and effects the case volume - but even with that You're not close a max load, and cast bullets have less friction in the barrel so pressure is lower compared to similar shaped jacketed bullet. Seems good to me.
