The 2010 US F-class National Championships are taking place in Sacramento California, March 24-28, 2010.

I'm going to try to get my butt down there for the US F-class championships. If anyone from west of Ontario is interested in joining me in a carpool please send a PM. Anyone interested in going and shooting as a "Canadian" team in the F-class championships?

I have .doc versions of the entry form and match bulletin available. Send me a PM with your email address and I'll fire them over to you.

As copied from a US forum...

"Sacramento Valley Shooting Center http://www.sacvalley.org/ is hosting it's annual "March Madness" long range matches, and the F Class National Championships.

I know a lot you tactical shooters still have a .308 or .223 hanging around. For those who can get the time off this would be a great opportunity to go up against some of the best shooters in the country by the F Class championships.

Please note, in addition to the individual F Class matches there will be a F Class team match. The Savage factory team is expected to be there. A number of the Palma shooters from Sac Valley are likely going to put some teams together and throw scopes on their Palma rifles and shoot the F Class matches the last week.

Several of the NCPPRC people are talking about shooting the event and putting together a team.

Oh god I hope I can get my new rifle built (and shooting) by then, If not, I'll be shooting my 6BR at both ranges.

600 is no problem....but I suck at the longer ranges when conditions kick up. :(

I guess I just need to get out and shoot the long ranges more often.

I too hope I can get my rifle back together for this one, already paid the $180 USD for the Nationals, got the invite from both Ed and Jim, got my passport, got my form 6 approved, got my brass all annealed, got two new barrels chambered up and the old one re-chambered, just waiting on a replacement stock from McMillan. Sure glad they stand behind their products. I hope I can get something shooting before then in one of these barrels.

Should be a hoot, Glen Taylor, Tom McCrea, Darcy Spenst, and myself are all going too, see ya there Les and Rich! Rich, bring Ian too eh :) Gess, counting Barry Prost(he usually goes to Sac for the Can-am anyways) and the Andersons, we have the makings of a 8 man team, or two 4 man teams :)

A link to the form is on this BATF web page. You will find the barrel length field does not allow data entry. I used Photoshop (after printing and scanning into a PDF again) and typed in the lengths.

http://www.atf.gov/firearms/022002form6updates.htm

Best to fax it, comes back faster this way. I sent mine out to BATF on Oct 13 and got it faxed back approved Nov 4th. I did not but a hunting lic., just using SIGNED invites.

Here's the hunting lic. link if you need a permit...
Alaska and North D. have cheap ones good for 1 yr. Small game ones...

The USBP has repeatedly stated to me that Alaska Hunting licenses are NOT sufficient for crossing the border inot the lower 48 with firearms, in place of the invitation. I know some have done it no problem, but the fact the border patrol knows about this is a concern. Best to get the invite and then get the BATF-6

Here is the info I got form the US on this match

Interesting how much more affordable THIS is compared to the Canadian Nationals... (20% of the cost...)

It's confirmed. I'm going. Got approval from the the Home Office over the weekend. Sent my $ south and have an invitation on the way north to include with my BATF Form 6 app.

Alright! The cheque is in the mail. Guess I'll get to meet some more western Canadian shooters next spring. Lotsa practice for me in the snow this winter. See y'all in the spring, eh?

My wife INSISTED that my Passport did not run out until next year. I just checked it tonite and it expires Dec 09 as I suspected.

Looks like a new passport is in order as well as everything else I'll need to do.

I have my Invite so all I need is to fax off the BATF form with the invite.

Any idea how long lead time is for a passport?

I know that I will not be making it but I plan on going to Porland in Aug right after the BC prov. They run a super agg using scores from both shoots. There is talk that there is a Open and F/TR team coming from the UK.
