Yeah they are exciting in the Rut, calling them in, rattling antlers etc, its up close an personal stuff, for me anyway.
This year they havnt quite got into full rut yet, We had a cold snap, followed by a week of heat an then another cold snap, this weekend seems to have them getting into it.
Scrapes havnt been worked as hard as previous years, weather its just early or not i dunno...
Croaking or Grunting has been very minimal in my area, quite opposite to previous years also.
After missing a big black fallow, i was stoked to sneak into this guys area an find him holding 8 Does/hinds, initially i was going to photograph the hinds but when i noticed this guy feeding, a quick change of Camera for Remington, DRT.
