2013 GAP Grind

OSA looks like a fantastic range and it would be great to see a national civilian comp there but it would be an undertaking of epic proportions! I'm surprised the GAP shoot only attracted 90 shooters but perhaps there's just far more interest/sponsorship money in 3-gun competitions making long range + pistol an outlier.

The Argyll Cup at the OSA has a lot that style shooting - but it's MIL and LEO only.

And it sure is challenging! Understand that these matches need a great deal of organizing effort, staging effort, volunteers' and their energy, and finally participation from really switched on shooters! :)

What's not to like?

Cheers,
Barney

Wow, awesome video! Now I want to go shoot.

Quite the eye opener too. It's one thing to get nice groups at known distances with a nice mat etc., but it's a whole other ball game to hit targets at various distances while on the clock. I for one would be making wild guesses at what clicks to enter on the scope if I had to hit 8 targets at 8 different ranges in one string of fire.

That style of shoots are what I miss most about not living in the US anymore... :(

If we had shoots like that here, more people would understand the advantages of FFP optics. Its something you can't really appreciate if you're only shoot at known distances with no time pressure.

Same thing with service rifle. What works great in matches 1-12 will kill you in international military matches.
