For ATF purposes,....which one is available for the 2013 season (to cover my application for the 2013 year),....Alaska or North Dakota?

hunh?
explain why please....??

I do so in case I want to go over at different times (ie: will likely use it for Area 7, perhaps Florida Open and a trip to Maine) Are you saying you no longer need to get a hunting permit?

sweet,...can anyone confirm? I will likely call tuesday, but if anyone has recently got an Approved form 6 nia, could you chime in...!?

Go to losttarget.com. All the info is there; however, you would be wise to show up at the border with the licence this year, as the border service probably doesn't know about it yet. It's not worth being turned away for $25. I just sent in my form 6 and Alaska licence, and will be buying a 2013 one shortly for my crossing on Jan 1.

Alaska's licence is available for 2013 now

I don't know about Alaska but ND's is only good to March 31 and then you have to buy a new one. I had a couple of buddies that had a run in with Homeland over this in the summer.

I crossed at the end of July and Border Services there were not aware of the new regulations. I always carry my invite to a match.

I have been getting my Form 6 approved without a hunting license. I just fax in my IPSC, USPSA Member, and a Match Calendar of the events that I am going to go to, along with an invitation letter and they have always approved it. It has never been a problem yet.

It's not BATF that is the problem, it's the border guards that really don't know their job. I'd just as soon pay $25 for an Alaskan hunting licence than to be turned away and have to go home, to then go on line and get one.

Same here, gave up on wasting my money on a hunting licence to get form 6. Carry the invite for the border guards to see.

I just got my Form 6 back approved 2 weeks ago. While the rules might have changed, they still haven't changed the application form. They still ask for either a hunting licence or match invitation.

It will likely be a while before the form gets updated ....and even if it does, there's no guarantee border guards wont require it. I'll will keep spending the $20. I also carry invites for most matches
