2014 ATF Form 6 Application

I sent(fax) mine in Jan 10 2014...........no news yet.........sounds like I should call to see if it was properly received.
Last year approx. same date of fax...........6 day turn around.
 
I had to reapply, as I had a lend lease gun added to it, rather than stroke out one gun they rejected the whole form with a nice 2 page letter telling me why. From the time I resubmitted it took 9 weeks.
 
Broadway,your post is interesting as we both applied approx. same date.........mine went in Jan 10, so hopefully will get it back soon.
 
I think you get a faster turn around time if you previously had a form 6 and are just renewing or making changes. The government shutdown definitely slowed things down.
 
I have sent mine on January 8th and still waiting. I have renewed mine for the last 6-7 years. It doesn't seem to make any difference.
 
I just got mine yesterday. Most often than not Washington state still requires the shoot invitations. I wouldn't go without.
 
The rules changed last year regarding license and invitations. I applied for mine last year without either and it came through approved. I crossed the border from Ontario into Michigan and NY without any problem. I usually took the program for the shoot with me, but was never asked for any additional information. I ran into one US border person that was unfamiliar with the paperwork, but she was helped out right away by another officer. I was not sent into secondary for an inspection this year, either.
 
went across to Detroit Gun Club for a skeet tournament last year had form 6, hunting license and a confirmation of my entry to the tournament and was told I needed an invitation but because I was there he wasn't going to turn me around.
When I asked about the hunting license as part of the requirement he then sternly asked me if I was hunting and when I said no he went on to say "well I guess it doesn't matter if you have a license. I need see an invitation for the event."Despite his obvious annoyance with me he still let me go. Maybe he was having a bad day but in four years of shooting in the U.S the hunting license was good enough but all of a sudden they want the invite, they don't care about the license.
I would strongly recommend sending an invite with your form 6 or at least have an invite when you cross the border.
 
submitted january 18th still nothing back. called today and asked if there was any chance it would be completed by march 2nd. was told they cannot guarantee anything and that I should call back next week. Kind of confusing because my last years was completed in 8 days, not even business days just 8 days. Although I do know Kim R. no longer works in that department and she was who approved mine last year.
