Answer: hungry (all low caps so I cannot mess things up)
Email address: hungry556 AT rogers.com

Restricted Firearms:

If you are planning on shooting your Restricted Firearms, be advised that your HOME Range ATT is NO Good for DND Ranges. You must either be an ORA Paid Up member for 2014 or I can arrange a Letter of Invite once you pay me via EMT and then we can get your Short Term ATT going

Rulebook for Download

* The matches can be downloaded from www.dcra.ca
* Look for the NSCC (National Service Conditions Championships) Hint: red links highlighted... :D
* Or just click on this link: http://dcra.ca/2013 docs/2013 NSCC Rulebook.pdf

* Read up on Matches 60 through to 66... keep on reading!

Match Cancelations and Updates:

Remember that we are shooting on CFB Borden's Ranges at the invitation of the Base Commander and you must understand & respect their rules/standards/limitations/procedures/and conduct.

The military units have priority over the booking procedure and the ORA's range bookings can be bumped or cancelled at a moments notice. I will be posting any updates for EACH match right HERE on this Long Range Forum. Each match will have it's own thread for your to find (easily I am hoping). In previous years, cancelations have occured with finite communication for various reasons. I'm sensitive to that situation and will do my best to keep you updated right here in this forum. :nest:

Communication with me (Match Director)

I can best be reached by PM right here on CGNutz, the best firearms online community. Yup, my handle is Tacticalteacher (one word) and I'm on here daily, usually in the evenings. :D

Many of you know my brand and reputation as both Hungry(Personal Account) and Tacticalteacher (business moniker). I will be running the PR matches with the same approach that many of you have come to know. We will get the job done, but have a few lighter moments along the way. Safety will never take a back seat to match procedure or process, rest assured!

What's the plan for the clinics?
Are there going to be different classes for participation again this year? Based on calibre? Experience?
Will there still be the SR class?
What's the expected round count for a match? (It's been a while since I've been out so I forget)
What kit should I plan to bring? (again, it's been a while)

Will we be doing 800/900 yards for the longers distances or 700/800 yards? Former is closer to the meter distances that will be shot at NSCC...

Well first things first. Let's confirm the tentative range bookings, shall we? Let's not jump the gun (pun intended). Classes? I am going to follow the NSCC rulebook as best that I can. Yes All of ya are OPEN class, the guys who want to shoot their AR's off the magazine can play in DM class. Kit to bring? Start by heading over to my website www.tacticalteacher.ca and have a look at the kit list for the clinics; it's very close to the kit list for the matches.

Clinics? Well, let's get a little closer to April. I'm not in the mood to start taking (pay me first) your money to reserve your spot ; well not quite yet anyways. I have to consult with other council members regarding the clinic fees since this is an ORA sponsored event. :)

Round count for the matches ? I always bring 2 x 50 rd boxes of ammo. It's below 70 rds for the day including sighters. Feel free to have a read of the NSCC rule book in the download links I have provided.

Round count for the clinics? I suggest 200 rds just like I described in my website. My clinics are 2 days duration and we go through lots of ammo, great trigger time for you clinic students, I say!

Cheers,
Barney

Here it is for ya:

Precision / Sniper Rifle Kit to Bring:

* A safe precision/sniper rifle in at least .223 Rem caliber and larger. .308 Win is a common platform
* Hand operated target turrets on your optic already mounted to your rifle. 4.5 x 14 scopes are common. 6.5 x 20 scopes are seen frequently. 8 x 30 scopes are great optics for these matches. Scopes with a parallax adjustable side focus work well. Adjustable objective scopes work too, but more annoying to work with while in the prone position. Just don't show up with the stereotypical 3 x 9 coin operated hunting scopes because you will be wasting your time (and money)

* Suggested scope choices:
- Bushnell Elite 6400, 6500, Sightron
- Leupold Mark 4 LR/T , Nikon, Vortex Razor, Zeiss
- NightForce, US Optics, Premier Reticles, Schmidt & Bender, Swarovski

* Rear bunny, sand bag, mono pod style rear rests work, too.
* Notebook to record your sight settings
* Anemometer (Kestrel-style) hand held wind gauges
* Spotting scope and tripod
* Rucksack, 3 day pack, Assault pack to carry your kit around the range
* Snacks, granola bars, nuts, fruit, extra fluids
* 200 rounds of safe, tested, reliable ammunition for your rifle (hopefully chronographed already)
* Sunscreen, bug dope, ballistic glasses, hearing defenders
* Extra food and water (someone always forgets)
* Screwdriver set - compact enough?
* OH Shzt Kit (if you don't know, I will teach you)
* Rain gear or appropriate foul weather gear
* Shooting mat / folding rifle case
* Ballistic software, handheld device (Smartphone?)
* Laptop or Tablet with USB interface... I'll tell ya why later on
* Ensure your rifle is zeroed for 100m
* Ensure your scope can do the "box" test reliably (Contact me, if you don't know what this is)

Not needed of different for the matches

Sorry if this is off topic but would you happen to know if the ORA membership fees for this year have been sent out as yet? Just want to make sure I don't miss out because a form got missing in the mail. Thanks.
