2014 ORA Service CQB and SR Schedule and Info

In case some of you have not heard. The Vz/Cz family of rifles made after 2006 are now prohibited. Like several others who participate in CQB, I can no longer use this rifle, anywhere.

There is some serious concern the AR platform is next, or soon on the hit list. This will end CQB and the Service Rifle events.

Contact the Minster of Public Safety steven.blaney@parl.gc.ca and follow events at a special thread here on CGN.

Check your info and the date on your receiver of your CZ. Agreed this is bad though and contacting your MP and Public Safety Minister.

Did, mine is 2011. I also have been firing off emails all day.

Got this from my MP just a few mins ago

The issues around reclassification of certain guns that have come to light over the past couple of days is very upsetting to many of you and to me also. I have been in contact with the Minister and also his staff yesterday and as recently as a couple of hrs ago. They are very aware of the situation and also of the concern and anger it brings to the reclassified gun owners and the MPs that represent them.
It would appear the events are driven by the bureaucracy and not by the elected people. There may also be more to the complexity within the group of the Cz guns than what I know. I don't know all the details yet but this is Sat@ noon and I know that there is an urgency about the matter with the Min of Public Safety and many MPs.
Obviously the EDA is their own master re direction and correspondence that they wish to forward. I would suggest that we as an EDA hold off until I hear what's all happening and see what develops next week. Clearly people are contacting MPs and also CPC HQ, and I concur with that also. Richard's comments are very valid and I thank him for his input.
I will also be asking for a briefing from the Min/staff next week.
Thanks

The final ORA Service Conditions match of the 2014 season is now complete. CQBm9 was shot today in the snow at Langemark Range. As always the ORA SC season started first and ended last as ORA shooting disciplines go. Good fun was had by all participants with several new faces.

We now have several cold winter months to prep for next season, reflect on lessons learned, perhaps buy new gear and generally look forward to warmer days and service conditions matches to come.
