For all those who are interested and those that were looking for an "intro" to LR shooting,I highly recommend getting into this course.
These fellows do a GREAT job. I've met a lot of their graduates on the range and believe me ,this course will really shorten your
"learning curve" in becoming a better rifleman .
Book now as class fills quickly.....

Any similar course offered in Ottawa?

Kinda similar, I just delivered a Precision Rifle clinic (28 shooters) in Petawawa's Yankee Range on 07-08 Sep (or a month ago). I'm in the process of arranging an April Precision Rifle clinic with the ORA, come spring time. All good learning. Bob R. puts on good learning! Go for it! :D

Cheers, Barney

There has been some preliminary discussion of trying to pull something like this together on the F-Class level at NCRRA. I don't think we'll be able to offer it this winter, but it would be good to gauge the interest level and perhaps over the summer we can convince Bob to help provide us with some guidance on how to deliver these types of courses next year. Certainly we are fortunate to have some very talented long range shooters at our club who are typically more than generous with their time.

It can be done Scott, will talk with you and Barry about it later.

I recommend this course to anyone who wants to graduate from the 100 range. Your instructors consider 300 yards "short range" and 600 yards "medium range".

Learn how to adjust your sights to repeatable setting for various ranges. Learn how to read the wind, using flags and/or mirage. Learn about handloading accurate ammunition. learn about simple but effective rifle cleaning. Learn about the effect of bedding on rifle performance.

After a number of classroom sessions students will spend a day at Camp Borden, with shooting coaches, and practice what they have been taught. Rifles are supplied.

There comes a time when you need to get some hands on range time with an instructor to answer questions. The internet has its limits...

This is the course I wish I could have taken 60 years ago when I started shooting.
